Ekaterina Bolgova

My teaching career began more than 20 years ago. From the age of 16 I lived in Great Britain, and for a long time I taught English there to newly arrived immigrants. Some time later I developed my own teaching method, which focuses on developing all language skills.

I interpreted negotiations at the highest government level for the Governor of the Rostov Region and the Mayor of Rostov-on-Don during visits of delegations from Scotland, at international sports competitions (the Russian President's Judo Cup) and more.
For 3 years I was also the personal interpreter of the King of Nigeria, John Feyvors, and of the Indian writer Jayapataka Swami.

For 7 years I worked as an external relations specialist on unique projects in Rostov-on-Don: the largest printing house in Rostov-on-Don, together with the Dutch company Graphic Web Systems B.V., the German company Scholpp, the English company EAE and others; the Splash sports and entertainment complex, together with the German company TREE AG, the Austrian PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Dutch Montana Snowcenter, the Finnish SnowTek and others.

For 3 years I taught English at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Rostov State Pedagogical University. Experience, practice and the wish to pass on my knowledge allowed me to open my own language school, Best English, built on the method I developed, which focuses on developing all language skills.

Russian

Russian lessons help improve literacy and develop reading, writing, text analysis and speaking skills. The lessons also pay attention to developing cognitive abilities: logical thinking, memory, attention, concentration, the ability to reason, draw conclusions and solve learning tasks effectively.

Teaching method

Each lesson makes time for speaking, reading, translation, listening and grammar. This is how the desired result is achieved — understanding foreign speech and speaking the language. Speaking sessions (speaking on a set topic without switching to your native language) help develop conversational skills and absorb the words you have learned. When studying grammar (Grammar sessions), switching to your native language is possible, to understand every detail of how a particular tense or grammatical form is used.

In my opinion, full “immersion” is not sensible when studying the grammatical features of a language. Two conditions are required of students: attend lessons regularly and do the homework. I say honestly: if you want to learn a foreign language, you have to make an effort, as in any other endeavour. I will simply do my best to help you, guide you, give you hints and organise the learning process properly — everything else depends on you. You need to truly catch the desire to learn a foreign language, and then the whole learning process will go naturally and easily!

Translation

Oral and written translation from English into Russian and from Russian into English.

Translation of texts, documents and articles; website content in English and Russian. Proofreading and editing of texts, advertising and print publications, and technical documentation.

Interpreting at meetings and negotiations. Negotiations online and by phone, during video conferences or as relayed messages; linguistic support for projects.

Interpreting at ceremonies and formal events.

Interpreting

Price: €50 per hour.

Minimum order: 1 hour.

Written translation

Price: €0.10 per word of translated text.

Minimum price per document: €50.

Telephone interpreting

Price: €50 per hour.

Minimum order: 1 hour.

Linguistic support

The price of linguistic support is agreed individually, depending on the scope of work.

Written translation: 50% of the total cost is paid in advance. Work on the translation begins once the prepayment is received. The remaining amount is paid on the day the translation is delivered. Interpreting: 100% of the cost is paid immediately after the work is completed.
